Despite spending two years in jail and receiving continued threats, Dawit Kebede isn’t going to give up his childhood dream of practicing journalism. Kebede is an Ethiopian journalist who publishes and edits a daily newspaper in the country’s capital Addis Ababa. His story is a very powerful portrayal of one man’s commitment to press freedom.

Kebede was the winner of the 2010 Press Freedom Award. Photos courtesy of the Committee to Protect Journalists. Story by Pierre Kattar.
