Kibera News Network

Kibera News Network is a citizen video journalism program started by Map Kibera and the Kibera Community Development Agenda (KCODA) in April 2010, along with two Kibera filmmakers using small handheld video cameras. They cover news and stories happening in Kibera, Kenya, from their perspective (it’s their neighbourhood). KNN has a YouTube Channel and a Facebook page as well.

The membership consists of 14 youth who shoot, edit, and upload in the computer lab and cyber.

According to their web site, “This it the real citizen journalism.” Good for them for setting this up and making their local issues available for the world to see and learn about.
