App of the Week – Flixster

Flixster is one of those apps you ignore most of the time but love it’s simplicity when you get to use it. Basically it’s a movie app, what’s playing, when, and where, but it’s also a good way to find movie suggestions. Flixster works with my favorite movie review site Rotten Tomatoes so you can get the rating and read some reviews while thinking over which movie you want to see.

  • Preview movies that are opening this week and see what’s hot at the box office
  • See what’s new on DVD and Blu-ray, and browse a catalog of over 50,000 films
  • Watch high quality trailers and video clips for over 10,000 blockbusters and indie flicks
  • Read movie reviews from Rotten Tomatoes
  • Search for your favorite movies, actors, and directors
  • Get maps that show nearby theaters and what movies they’re playing
  • Buy or rent movies from iTunes right on your device
  • Create your own personal “Want-to-See” list, and rate and review movies
  • Connect with a Facebook or a Flixster account to share your ratings with your friends

Flixster is free (sponsored ad supported) at the App Store.
