App of the Week – Scan

What if the world had links like a web site? Well, it does if you own a smart phone. Scan by QR Code City is “the most straightforward QR Code scanner available” (according to their web site) and after using it this past weekend I would have to agree. Simple is almost always better and this app works so well because it does what it’s supposed too without any fuss or bells.

I was a little sceptical as to whether or not I needed a QR code scanner but yesterday at Podcamp they had a code set up for a mobile version of the schedule and Scan took me to it instantly. Now I find myself looking for codes and wishing I had one on my business card.

Scan is free at the App Store.

Scan is good, i-nigma is better (also free) and Quick Mark ($1.99) is awesome. It let’s you create QR codes!
