Taking the Final Cut Pro X Plunge!

Why? Well, long story short I saw a really great plugin for $39. I figured with the Apple 30 Day Trial I had nothing to loose and might even walk away liking a NLE that really seemed to get a lot of bad press upon it’s release last year.

My current editor is Final Cut Pro 7 and I admit I hate the fact that I paid over a thousand dollars for it! FCP X is $299! Maybe I could sell 7 to pay for X?

So far I”ve been very happy with FCP X. It is a learning curve but I enjoy things like that. Already spent money on manuals and guides and that’s usually a good indicator for me that I’m on to something. It has some great features and once I sorted out the Event thing and set my Mac up to adjust this is a relatively smooth transition.

If I buy it at the end of 30 days…. oh who am I kidding? I will.

So far it’s been a pleasure. I picked up a manual for working out some of the new features and edited a few videos. The Share feature is nice as is the rendering speed. Rendering in FCP 7 was a nightmare. It’s worth giving it a try. 30 free trial.

So how are you finding it now? I’m considering taking the leap, getting really tired with having to convert DSLR footage for use in Final Cut Pro 7! :-S
