Doesn’t take long in today’s world to make an impact, especially if you’re using social media apps. Mitt Romney’s campaign found out rather quickly that once it’s out there it’s out there.
The Amercia is with Mitt app went live Tuesday night and within hours the typo trended on Twitter. The app overlays photos taken by users with support slogans for Mitt and the snafu is the spelling of America on one of the images. The app has it Amercia, not America. Kind of like misunderestimating simple things like spell checkers, editors, or having friends look something over before you hit the send button.
Since the app encourages sharing the photos on Facebook and Twitter, many users took to the web with their photos, using the #WithMitt hashtag that Romney himself tweeted Tuesday evening.
“We thought this would be a fun, easy way to showcase support,” Zac Moffatt, the digital director of the Romney campaign, told Mashable.
