Seriously Facebook?

Facebook

Facebook

You really see nothing wrong with someone creating a Facebook Page mocking a dead teenager? And after reviewing my report and request to have it removed you “were not able to confirm that the specific page you reported violates Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities”?

Well how about we put aside your Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and appeal to your sense of decency and compassion? How would you feel if this was being done to your child? If someone created a web site and Photoshopped images of your child in the most vile and disgusting ways imaginable?

Would you take it down then?

I resent my request this morning. I know I’m not the only one who has. Put your Statement aside and use your heart.

Please!

I reported to Facebook as well and they said the same thing that it did not constitute graphic violence and does not violate our community standard. It looks like it wasn’t until the police called them that they got it taken down. Not even the father Glen Canning could get it removed.

This makes me want to close my Facebook account even more now. I’m sorry to hear your family is hauted by this. At this point, it’s not only about their Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, but also about allowing you to have closure. It’s sad how social media such as FB allows such negligence to keep flowing like it does. I hope they really hear your voice and shut it down. Wishing you all the best.

Funny enough my husband ex wife reported MY PICTURES, of MY VACATIONS with MY FAMILLY as copy rigt that she owned only to cause trouble (even miles away… she is in Scotland) and can you belive that it took a mather of hours befire I received ab e-mail from facebook telling my that MY PICTURES where someone elses copy right!!!! So I had to delete all of the albums, even when I told them to ask the person (which they gave me the e-mail address ) to provide them the whole pictures series (unfortunatly for her it was me that had them all). They still said because there was a complain I had to delete them and go to court if i taught i was wrongly accused….. So I can see that for unimportant matter they are fast to react, but when it’s about being human and sensitive to a cause, well the corporate wins!!!!! Two thumbs down for facebook!!!

Unbelievable. I’ve seen multiple cases where they have left up child pornography for over 12 hours despite being reported by at least hundreds of people. They have also have not deleted accounts by people in my province who distributed child porn as well, even when some were charged and convicted of it.

I deleted my facebook account because of this criminal negligence.

How is this not harassment? What’s the point of offering to remove harassing material if fb won’t remove it?

Far too much of this stuff is allowed of FaceBook. They promote the site to children as young as 13 and do next to nothing to keep their site safe. They even allowed a site similar to the one attacking your daughter and those mourning her about Amanda Todd that posted naked pictures (child porn) of her. Even with at least hundreds of reports, it took them nearly 12 hours to remove it. The site is so rife with defamation and slander, it makes “The Dirty” look civil.

They make billions from their site and advertisers and cannot assign a few more competant people to monitor such content? They are negligent and this negligence makes them complicit in the illegal use of their site. The only thing that will get their attention is a lawsuit, alerting advertisers and public shaming in the media which will hurt their market share. They care nothing for the safety of children, only profit.

I really don’t have words enough to say how much I am angered and dismayed by how you and the rest of your daughters family and friends have been made to suffer again and again. While I have taken some comfort in seeing how many good people there are out there, I am deeply disturbed by how many sadistic and remorseless people I have seen.

    Best wishes

    OMG..way past obscene…

Often, it seems people/companies etc will not act decent unless it costs them. (I am not on facebook, so not too familiar, but this might apply)

Could you send what ever it is you sent to facebook, to all of their advertisers on the page, asking them to please help you to pressure Facebook to act humanely?
