I’m hopeful a directive will be issued by the Nova Scotia Justice Minister stating that it is not in the publics interest to enforce this ban.

No charges to be laid in investigation into possible breaches of publication ban
Investigators in the Integrated General Investigation Section of the Criminal Investigation Division have concluded seven files in connection with possible breaches of a court-imposed publication ban on the identity of a victim in a child pornography case.
Investigators commenced the investigations in late September based on complaints from citizens about the possible breaches of the publication ban after the victim’s name was published by both citizens and local media. Investigators considered whether the victim’s name was used in connection with the child pornography charges as well as the overall context in which her name was used. Based on the investigation, which included consultation with the Crown, charges will not be laid in these files.
As part of this investigation, police also received a complaint of a possible breach of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) in relation to an individual publishing the first names of the two men accused in the same child pornography case; under the YCJA, the men cannot be identified as they were youths at the time of the offence. The complainant in this matter wished for it to be dealt with through alternative means which investigators facilitated. As a result, charges will not be laid in this file.
Police will continue to investigate any additional allegations of breach of this court-imposed publication ban and/or the YCJA on a case-by-case basis to determine if charges are warranted.
