We are so glad to be able to finally launch the Rehtaeh Parsons Society in memory of Rehtaeh. Today is going to be fantastic day and I’m really looking forward to it.
The feedback over the last year and a half from across Canada makes it obvious a need is there for victim advocacy groups – whether it be for cyberabuse, sexual assault, victim blaming, or bullying.
We’re looking for volunteers, board members, advocates, counsellors, idea people, program directors, etc.
You can find more information on the Society’s web site – Rehtaeh Parsons Society.
“To make change is the most powerful thing we can really do in her name,” Rehtaeh’s mother, Leah Parsons, said Friday.
Hope to see you there or hear from you.
The society launch will take place Saturday at the Hillside Wesleyan Church in Cole Harbour between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
