Chatelaine Interview

‘There’s a disconnect right now with our youth, consent, the law and healthy sexual relationships’

Below is an interview I had with #Project97.

What is #Project97: The vast majority of sexual assaults against women in this country—about 97 per cent—are never recorded as crimes by police. It is an outrageous statistic, and it’s the reason we have decided to launch a year-long project examining Canada’s staggering problems with sexual violence.

[su_quote cite=”Project 97″]This interview took place before the Nova Scotia attorney general announced, on Dec. 17, that no media outlet would be charged for breaking the publication ban in the Rehtaeh Parsons’ case.[/su_quote]

If you have experienced sexual assault or abuse, the Canadian Association of Sexual Assault Centres provides a list of rape crisis centres, transition houses and women’s centres that may be able to offer assistance. Click here for the full list >>
