Cheer up emo kid

Today was hard. Finally a few answers and a bit of closure.

I am grateful for Crown Attorney Alex Smith, Magistrate Lisa Henderson, HRM Police Sgt. Andrew Matthews, and Julie Dingwall of Victim Services. They had a tough file to work on and I know they did their best. All we can look forward to now is Murray Segal’s review.

    Dear Mr. Canning

Although I hope to never feel your pain…I have two young children and they are the centre of my universe…

I admire your courage and strength…a true CANADIAN in the best spirit.

My hopes that you can gather enough strength to continue to fight in the name of your beautiful treasure who was stolen by the single minded use of a woman, girl, as nothing more than a sex object…

This is one of the most disgusting episodes of violence against women to date within our proud, and now shamed, nation…

The only way we as Canadians can hope to redeem ourselves is to stand up, shoulder to shoulder, arm in arm, voices in unison to educate and remove the stereotypes that are so often attached to women and, girls….

I am so glad you got your daughter’s name back…The truth can set us free…

Canadians can now properly discuss the horrors you and your family, friends and everyone touched by this story have experienced…so that we can hope to prevent it from re-occurring…I still cry for your loss…and will for years to come…

may Rehtaeh’s memory give you the strength that I can only hope to offer you…

a beautiful treasure stolen by ignorance, murdered by silence, and now finally remembered in death because her life was taken at such a young age….

I read in Sun News, a few minutes ago, about the person from DND charged for making changes to your daughter’s wiki page…Well, I am glad someone was caught/charged..

but I have to tell you, my condolences to you, yet again. As I read it I felt a huge exhaustion and depression that anyone would be so perverse.

I don’t know you and your family, but once more, I apologise, because someone should, that you folks have been so abused (including your daughter).
