Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.
I can stare at the screen all day and still not know what to say. Suicide is empty. It’s a giant hole in the hearts of everyone who ever cared for you. It hurts.
Please – if you need to talk reach out. If you’re called on to listen – than LISTEN.
No one should feel their lives and dreams and hopes have sunk into a pit so dark they only see one way out.
No one dies from suicide. They die from depression, fear, anger, hopelessness, loneliness, and a lack of resources to help them deal with any number of mental health issues.
Suicide is forever.
Are you feeling suicidal?
If you are feeling suicidal, please contact your local crisis line or counselling centre.
Is someone you know thinking of suicide?
If you are concerned that someone you know may be thinking of suicide, you can help. Remember, as a helper, do not promise to do anything you do not want to do or that you cannot do. First of all, if the person is actively suicidal, get help immediately. Call your local crisis service or the police, or take the person to the emergency room of your local hospital. Do not leave the person alone. If the person has attempted suicide and needs medical attention, call 9-1-1 or your local emergency services number.[su_tabs][su_tab title=”#WSPD15″]#WSPD15 Tweets [/su_tab] [su_tab title=”#BeThe1To”]#BeThe1To Tweets [/su_tab] [su_tab title=”#WorldSuicidePreventionDay”]#worldsuicidepreventionday Tweets [/su_tab][/su_tabs]
